The Difference Between CBD and THC

As the legal use of hemp and other products has taken over the market, consumers are becoming more curious about their options. This includes cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the two major natural compounds found in the hemp plant. Both CBD and THC are natural compounds derived from the same plant. In addition, both are the most prominent cannabinoids found in the plant. So, you might be thinking, “oh, so it’s just dry herb, right?” Well, not exactly.

CBD can be extracted from hemp or the Sativa strain, while THC is the primary compound found in the dry herb. It has a higher concentration of THC, while Hemp has a higher concentration of CBD. They have the same chemical makeup, 21 carbon atoms, 30 hydrogen atoms, and two oxygen atoms. However, they do not have the same arrangement, and the body receives them as entirely different compounds. These compounds bind neurotransmitters to your brain, affecting mood, pain, sleep, and memory.

Both compounds provide a different experience for the body. Although they both interact with the ECS system, they have different effects with different medical benefits. However, CBD and THC have several of the same medical benefits.

Final Word

CBD and THC are derived from the same plant. Even though they are, the two compounds are completely different and offer different properties. Both are great for the body, depending on what you want to use it for and how you want to feel. Before using either is, check with your doctor and consider how the effects vibe with you. It is essential to keep in mind.
