E-Rig Vs. E-Nail

E-Rig vs E-Nail What's the Difference?

What’s the Difference between and What do They Do?

More commonly known as e-rigs and e-nails, Electronic Rig and Electronic Nails are devices made explicitly for dabbing concentrates. They provide exact, consistent heat, making for smooth and rich inhales.

Traditional dabbing is done by heating a nail with a torch. The nails are attachments placed in a dab rig, then heated to extreme temperatures before eventually cooling down. Then the dab is placed in the nail to transform into inhalable vapor. The nail needs to be at the perfect temperature for optimal performance. If the nail is too cold, the concentrate won’t fully melt, but if too hot, it might scorch the dab, which ruins the overall flavor.

We will get a closer look at what they do and the differences between the two.

What is an E-Rig?

An E-Rig or “dab rig,” more commonly known, is a water pipe used to inhale concentrates. Just think of it as a bong but for concentrates. An electronic rig is a complete rig that heats dabs electronically. This means a rechargeable battery powers it. A great example would be the Puffco Peak Pro by Puffco.

Typically, e-rigs are, of course, electronic and can be set to specific temperatures. This allows users to pick their preferred point. This is very beneficial as it will enable users to get the most out of their sessions their way.

Additionally, it is a full rig and not an attachment, as with e-nails.

What is an E-Nail?

A standard nail is an accessory that sits in a dab rig. It is heated with a torch and dabs, or concentrates are dropped for inhalation.

An electronic nail, or e-nail, takes the place of a standard nail. It is an attachment that fits onto a traditional glass dab rig with a cord that connects to the temperature control box.

Some e-nails have batteries, while others just need to be plugged in for use. As with an e-rig, e-nails can be set to exact temperatures for user preference. A standard glass dab rig is still required with an e-nail, but this setup allows the consumer to get rid of a standard nail and torch.

Benefits of E-Rigs and E-Nails

Precise Temperature Control

Using an e-rig or e-nail will allow the dabber to dial in the temperature to an exact setting for the session users want. Whether this is low temps for more flavor, high temps for grand clouds, or anything in between. Some devices have temperature presets, while others can be set to an exact degree.

Consistency

Once users find the temperature they like, they can heat the device to that specific temperature again and again. It is challenging to get the exact temperature repeatedly when using a torch, and getting consistent dabs usually involves using a temperature gun, which ultimately adds more gear to your setup. With an e-rig or e-nail, users can avoid the stress and added hassles.

Safety

Using a torch is more dangerous than using an electronic device because of the open flames. Additionally, torches use fuel quickly, and dabbers who utilize them constantly need to re-up on butane and properly dispose of empty cans. With e-rigs and e-nails, none of that added work is necessary.

We hope this helps and will catch you in the next blog.

Happy Vaping!
